Stolen Car Leads To Wild Police Pursuit Through Shreveport Streets
Shreveport Police officers arrested an 18 year-old following a vehicle pursuit that ended near Mansfield Road and Valley View Drive.
During the incident, officers attempted to stop a vehicle that was later determined to be stolen. Jerrie Dupree allegedly refused to stop and took off in the car, leading them on a chase through the city. The car chase came to an end when Dupree lost control of the vehicle and crashed.
Officers surrounded the car, and found that four juveniles were passengers inside the stolen vehicle at the time of the crash. Dupree and all four juveniles were taken to local hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Dupree has been charged with four counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile, one count of Illegal Possession of Stolen Things, one count of Aggravated Flight from an Officer, and one count of Driving Without a License.
This serves as a reminder of the dangers associated with stolen vehicles and fleeing from law enforcement. What began as a criminal act escalated into a situation that could have resulted in injury or death for everyone involved.

The Shreveport Police Department encourages parents and guardians to remain aware of their children's whereabouts and the individuals they associate with. Incidents like this demonstrate how quickly poor decisions can place young lives at risk.
The investigation remains ongoing.
