SHREVEPORT, LA - The Shreveport City Council votes to lease the Stageworks Building on the Clyde Fant Parkway to Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s G-Unit Film & Television.

This proposed lease has been on the council agenda for many months.

G-Unit wants to operate a sports and entertainment event venue at the complex. This will include several amateur and professional sporting events ranging from basketball to volleyball. There are also plans to host conventions, seminars, auto shows and boxing matches and MMA matches.

G-Unit has pledged to work with the team at Visit Shreveport Bossier to plan events at the downtown location.

This lease is for 30 years and has an option to renew for 15 years. It calls for rent of $200 dollars a month.

G-Unit will take over all maintenance and operational cost of the building.

SPAR currently has some offices inside the Stageworks building, but they will be moving out to other city owner properties.

This is a companion lease to the lease for Millennium Studios which the company plans to use for filming TV and movie projects. But no filming has happened yet. G-Unit has been working on a deal for another building at that location. Mayor Tom Arceneaux says a revised lease for Millennium is now being discussed. It will include that additional building.

This new lease for Stageworks goes into effect 7 days after the Mayor signs it. He expects to sign it in just a few days.
