The Dallas Cowboys have confirmed that defensive back Morris Claiborne tore the patellar tendon in his left knee during Sunday night's 38 - 17 win over the New Orleans Saints.

According to team officials, Claiborne has been placed on the injured reserve list and is lost for the remainder of the season.

The Shreveport native and Fair Park HS grad will have undergo corrective surgery in the next few days.

Referring to players with similar injuries, 'Pokes coach Jason Garrett said, ' (they've) gotten themselves healthy and gotten themselves stronger and ready to play at this level. They've had really good careers after that.'
