Shreveporter Busted For Domestic Violence Incident With a Skillet

On June 12th, 2023, around 6:20 p.m. Shreveport Police Department Patrol officers were contacted in reference to a report of assault and battery in the 100 block of Taliaferro Drive.

On arrival, officers contacted a victim that was bleeding from the head. The responding officers determined that the victim had been involved in a domestic dispute and was struck in the head with a cast iron skillet.

Further investigation led officers to the arrest of Grant McMurtry (11-23-87). McMurtry was arrested for one count of Domestic Abuse aggravated assault. The victim is expected to recover.

Shreveport Police would like to encourage those who are victims of Domestic Violence to seek assistance. There are many options that exist to help. Contact SPD for more details.
