Shreveport Woman Arrested for Domestic Stabbing
Earlier this week, Shreveport Police's Domestic Violence Detectives were notified of a stabbing victim at a local hospital.
The male victim had been stabbed several times in the back, and was last reported to be in stable condition with non life-threatening injuries. During SPD's investigation they found out that the victim's female roommate, 31 year-old Jerrica Hamilton had taken an unknown narcotic, and began acting erratic and aggressive toward him and her 11 year-old daughter.
The victim left the residence in an attempt to de-escalate the situation. After that, Hamilton began calling and texting him with threats. Concerned for his personal belongings, the victim returned to the home. When he got back to the home, Hamilton struck him in the head, the pepper sprayed him in the face. As the victim attempted to run away, he felt several stab-wounds to his back and side.
As he was running, the victim found that the knife used in the stabbing was still stuck in his side. After removing the knife, the man collapsed, and was later found and taken to the hospital.
From SPD:
"On July 31, 2025, the original responding officer located Jerrica Hamilton. She was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of Aggravated Second Degree Battery."
