Shreveport Woman Murdered in Cedar Grove Named

A woman shot and mortally wounded in her home in Shreveport’s Cedar Grove neighborhood early Friday, December 1, 2023, has been named by the Caddo Parish Coroner’s office.

Cassie Williams, 30, was shot multiple times just before 7:19 a.m. in her residence in the 500 block of West 77th Street. She was transported to Ochsner LSU Health hospital, where she succumbed to her wounds at 7:46 a.m.

She was positively identified through fingerprint comparison.

The death, the 78^th homicide in Caddo Parish to date in 2023 and the 73^rd in Shreveport proper, remains under investigation by the Shreveport Police Department, to which further inquiries should be directed.

An autopsy was ordered.
