Shreveport Woman Facing Child Desertion Charge

A Shreveport woman has been arrested for child desertion.

23-year-old Brittany Jones is accused of leaving her 18-month-old baby sleeping in her crib while she went downtown.  A short time later, she was arrested for DWI and hit and run driving.  When a family member went to her house the next day, after learning of her arrest, she found the baby still in her crib and crying.  She took the baby into her custody and notified the Sheriff's Office the next day.  This morning, Caddo deputies went to Jones' residence, interviewed her, then arrested her and booked her into CCC on charges of child desertion and being in possession of a legend drug.
