Shreveport Woman Facing 71 Counts For Doctor Shopping And Forgery

37-year-old Margaret Cressy Duhe was arrested by State Police Narcotics Investigators after a month-long investigation into her actions.  She's accused of visiting 49 Doctors; in hospitals, emergency rooms and offices to get prescriptions, presumably for pain pills. 

State Police Spokesman Cordell Williams says Duhe allegedly took her written prescriptions to some twenty pharmacies mainly throughout Caddo and Bossier parishes, but also to one in St. Tammany Parish and a couple in Texas. 

Her undoing, was apparently doing it too much.  In the end, it was a suspicious Pharmacist and Doctor who alerted the authorities that something with Duhe didn't seem right. 

In addition to the 69 counts of Doctor shopping Duhe's facing, she is also charged with two counts of obtaining a controlled dangerous substance by fraud.  In these cases, she allegedly changed either the dosage or the number of pills before taking them to the pharmacy to get filled.

Duhe is currently being housed at Caddo Correctional Center.
