Shreveport Police Seeking Man Wanted for Sex Crime

UPDATE: Boyd has been arrested by Sex Crimes Detectives.

Last week Shreveport Police Sex Crimes Detectives started an investigation in to the rape of a 14 year-old.

SPD got a call from Grimmett Drive reporting that a 14 year old was being assaulted by her mother's boyfriend. During the investigation several interviews were done, and evidence collected to put out a warrant for Derrick L. Boyd.

Boyd was also found to be a convicted sex-offender in Bossier City. A warrant is currently out for Boyd, charging him with Second-Degree Rape and one count of Sexual Battery.

Shreveport Police need your help finding Boyd so that he can be brought to justice.

"This case will remain open pending Boyd’s arrest. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to contact the Shreveport Police Department at 318-673-7300 or Caddo Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.

If convicted, Boyd could face up to 40 years in prison."
