The Shreveport Police Department has taken a local woman into custody following a violent April disturbance at C&C Grocery. The incident, which involved both mace and a firearm, ended after a store employee managed to disarm the suspect during a heated confrontation.

Escalation and Assault at C&C Grocery

According to investigators, Sherdaricka Johnson arrived at the business with the intent to confront an ex-boyfriend. When she discovered he was not on the premises, she reportedly turned her aggression toward a store employee who asked her to leave the property.

The situation turned physical when Johnson allegedly sprayed the employee with mace. She then produced a firearm and threatened to shoot the victim in the face. Witness statements and store surveillance footage have since corroborated these events.

Suspect Flees After Being Disarmed

In a dramatic turn, the store employee was able to wrestle the weapon away from Johnson, preventing any shots from being fired. Johnson fled the scene shortly after the struggle.

In a surprising twist, Johnson later contacted police to report her firearm as stolen. However, officers noted that she was uncooperative during that initial contact. Following a brief investigation, officers located and arrested Johnson the following day without further incident.

Charges Filed and Safety Outcomes

Police confirmed that Johnson had been previously banned from the C&C Grocery property. She now faces the following charges:

  • One count of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm
  • One count of Simple Battery
  • One count of Entering and Remaining After Being Forbidden

The individual who disarmed Johnson will not face any charges, as investigators determined he acted in self-defense against an immediate threat.

The Shreveport Police Department released a statement saying:

"The Shreveport Police Department takes incidents involving firearms and threats of violence seriously," the department stated. "We are thankful this situation did not result in serious injury or loss of life."
