Shreveport Man Arrested for Domestic Violence With a Glass Bottle

Shreveport Police Department were dispatched to Willis-Knighton South in reference to a female who was suffering from severe lacerations.

When SPD got to the hospital, they made contact with medical staff and the victim, who was being treated for serious injuries. Medical personnel observed heavy bleeding from the left side of her neck. Officers also noted a deep cut extending through the skin to the muscle at the base of her neck, and an additional deep cut to her left shoulder.

The victim reported that she had been involved in a physical fight with her ex-boyfriend, identified as Leonard Jake-Frank Moran. The victim told SPD that Moran came to her house earlier in the evening, where the two became involved in a verbal dispute. After initially leaving, Moran returned to the home under the pretense of needing help after a car accident.

Once inside, Moran allegedly became aggressive, damaged the victim’s cell phone, and continued the fight. During the scuffle, Moran reportedly grabbed a glass bottle and hit the victim, causing the bottle to shatter, resulting in the severe injuries.

While SPD was interviewing the victim at the hospital, Moran contacted Shreveport Police dispatch to report a vehicle accident and was later located at his home on Logan Street.

As a result of the investigation, Leonard Jake-Frank Moran has been charged with:

· Domestic Abuse Battery with a Dangerous Weapon

· Felony Criminal Damage to Property

This incident remains under investigation.
