The Shreveport Fire Department responded to a house fire on Malcolm Street late Saturday morning.

SFD Engine 15 got to the scene just after 10 AM,  and reported heavy black smoke and fire coming from 3 sides of the house. Firefighters initiated an aggressive attack to stop
the spread of the fire and the fire was placed under control at 10:13 AM.

There was no one  inside the house at the time of the fire, and no injuries were
reported. A total of 10 units, and of 32 Firefighters and support staff, were dispatched to the scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Shreveport Fire Department Fire Prevention Bureau.

From SFD:

"The Shreveport Fire Department reminds the public that vacant homes can attract
unauthorized entry, increasing fire risk. Residents who observe suspicious activity
around unoccupied structures are urged to contact the SFD Fire Prevention Bureau or SPD."
