Shreveport Firefighters Fight Early-Morning Vacant Apartment Fire
Just before 3am this morning, Shreveport Firefighters got a call about a fire at a vacant apartment complex on Line Avenue.
The call came in to 911 from a person passing by the complex. The caller said they could see flames coming from the top of one of the buildings. SFD showed up to the scene, and the fire was coming from the upper-part of the empty building.
The fire was severe and took 14 trucks and 33 firefighters and support to get the blaze under control. It took SFD 26 minutes to put the fire out. No injuries were reported for this fire. The building had no utilities hooked up and SFD is investigating the cause.
From SFD:
"Authorities are working diligently to determine the cause of the fire. The Shreveport Fire Department would like to remind residents to report any unusual activity in their neighborhoods to local authorities."
