Just after midnight on September 22nd, 2024, Shreveport Police Department officers initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Greenwood Road and Broadway Avenue. Upon making contact with the driver, 48-year-old Marcus Crawford, officers discovered that he was armed with a handgun.

Officers then approached the passenger side of the vehicle to speak with 28-year-old Taliyah Morris, who was also found to be in possession of a handgun. A roadside investigation revealed that both Crawford and Morris were convicted felons.

Officers seized both handguns, and Crawford and Morris were arrested for being felons in possession of firearms. Additionally, Morris was found to have outstanding warrants.

The Shreveport Police Department remains committed to removing firearms from individuals prohibited from possessing them in order to enhance the safety of our community.

If you know someone who is in possession of firearms and is prohibited from doing so, please contact the Shreveport Police Department at (318) 673-7300 or Caddo Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373.
