Shreveport Traffic Stop Leads to Felony Firearm Arrest
SHREVEPORT, LA- Felon Arrested During Traffic Stop
On June 25, 2024, at approximately 5:55 PM, Shreveport Police patrol officers conducted a traffic stop in the 3000 block of Missouri Avenue, resulting in the arrest of a convicted felon found in possession of a firearm and narcotics.
The vehicle, driven by Bennett Bryant, was stopped for traffic violations. During the stop, officers discovered Bryant, a 53-year-old male, in possession of both narcotics and a firearm. Due to a prior felony conviction, Bryant is prohibited from possessing a firearm.
Bryant has been arrested and charged with the following:
- Unlawful possession of a firearm
- Possession of Schedule II narcotics
- Illegal carrying of a weapon
This arrest exemplifies the outstanding work our officers perform daily to keep illegally possessed firearms off the streets and ensure the safety of our community.
Suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
