
Shreveport Traffic Stop Leads To Arrest Of Felon With Drugs and a Gun
SHREVEPORT, LA- Shreveport Police Seize Drugs and Firearm During Traffic Stop
Just after noon on January 10, 2025, Shreveport Police officers conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge Durango in the 4100 block of Curtis Lane for failing to use a turn signal and not having a valid inspection sticker.
During the stop, officers detected the odor of suspected marijuana coming from the vehicle. After detaining the driver, who was identified as Chamorea Bell, officers conducted a search of the vehicle. Inside, they discovered approximately two pounds of suspected marijuana stored in a black bag in the trunk area, along with two additional clear bags in the center console.
Officers also found a 9mm pistol in the vehicle. Being a convicted felon, Bell is prohibited from possessing firearms. As a result, Bell was arrested and charged with the following:
- Turning Movements and Required Signals
- Illegal Carrying of a Weapon
- Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
- Produce, Manufacture, Distribute, Dispense, or Possess with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance

The Shreveport Police Department released a statement saying: This arrest underscores the Shreveport Police Department's commitment to targeting individuals who unlawfully possess firearms and illegal substances. Ensuring the safety of our community remains a top priority.
