Shreveport Man Arrested for Terrorizing With a Gun
Shreveport Police have arrested a man following a scary situation that occurred in Downtown Shreveport in late December.
SPD Officers learned that Amos Alex was involved in a verbal dispute with an unknown man in the downtown area. During the argument, Alex reportedly went to his car to grab a rifle, and charged toward the other person.
A third person stopped Alex and was able to take the rifle away before the situation escalated to a shooting. Several other people were close by and witnessed the fight. Multiple witnesses reported fearing for their lives when Alex arrived armed with the rifle.
During the course of the investigation, detectives also learned that Alex had allegedly engaged in similar behavior within the previous month.
Last week, Alex voluntarily reported to the Violent Crimes Office for an interview with SPD. After the interview, he was arrested and charged with one count of Terrorizing. Alex was booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
From SPD:
"The Shreveport Police Department takes incidents involving firearms and threats to public safety very seriously and will continue to aggressively investigate and prosecute actions that place the community at risk."
