After officers successfully brought the pursuit to an end, Crawford was identified as the driver and immediately detained.

Suspect Faces Multiple Felony Charges

During the subsequent investigation, officers discovered that the vehicle Crawford was driving had been reported stolen. Additionally, the 17-year-old was found to be in possession of an illegal firearm and illicit drugs.

Crawford has been booked and faces the following charges:

  • Aggravated Flight from an Officer
  • Possession of Schedule I Narcotics

Police Department Vows Continued Crackdown

Shreveport Police officials expressed deep concern over the dangerous nature of the incident, citing it as part of a troubling trend of reckless youth behavior.

"This case is yet another example of a young individual making dangerous decisions that put both the public and responding officers at risk," the department said in a statement. "Fleeing from law enforcement while armed and operating a stolen vehicle is reckless behavior that cannot and will not be tolerated in our community."

The department reiterated its ongoing commitment to removing illegal firearms from local streets and ensuring that offenders are held fully accountable.
