Shreveport Police have a woman behind bars following a stabbing that nearly killed a man.

Early on Friday morning, Shreveport Police got a call bout a stabbing on Abilene Street. When SPD got there they found a man with a stab-wound paramedics deemed life-threatening. The stab wound was to the man's abdomen, and he was rushed to the hospital.

SPD Detectives immediately started an investigation with the Violent Crimes Unit. After interviews, they determined that there was a fight over drugs and alcohol that led to the stabbing. Tamika Washington was identified as the suspect in the stabbing.

Washington was arrested by SPD after the investigation. She is being charged with one count of Attempted Second-Degree Murder. She was booked in to the Shreveport City Jail.
