
Shreveport Man Arrested for Splashing Hot Coffee on Hotel Clerk
Over the weekend, Shreveport Police were called out to a hotel on Interstate Drive to reports of an assault.
When SPD got to the hotel, they were told by witnesses that a man named Kenneth Smart refused to leave the property after the front desk clerk told him to following some sort of disturbance.
During the argument, the clerk told SPD that Smart made a cup of hot coffee and threw it on them. The hot coffee splashed on the clerk's face and chest causing significant burns.
After a short investigation, Smart was arrested and charged with, Second Degree Battery and Entering and Remaining After Being Forbidden.
From SPD:
"The victim was treated for injuries sustained in the assault. The Shreveport Police Department takes acts of violence seriously and commends the responding officers for their swift actions in ensuring the suspect was taken into custody."
