Shreveport Home in Southern Trace Destroyed in Blaze
SHREVEPORT, LA - A large 2-story home in Southern Trace in south Shreveport is heavily destroyed by fire over the weekend.
Shreveport firefighters responded to a fire in the 300 block of Robbins Place Sunday afternoon. Once crews arrived on the scene, they found the nearly 6-thousand-square-foot home fully engulfed in flames and heavy smoke was coming from the middle of the home.
Firefighters began working to put out the blaze starting an offensive attack. But that effort quickly changed to a defensive attack as the fire raged and it started to get out of control.
Overall, there were 12 units dispatched to this fire, including Caddo Fire District 5 for mutual aid response to assist in firefighting operations, and the Shreveport Police department to assist with drone footage for firefighting operations while SFD used their drones for investigative purposes.
No one was home at the time of the blaze and no firefighters were hurt while fighting the blaze.
The fire is currently under investigation to determine the cause and origin.
