Shreveport Man Shoots Someone After They Kicked His Dog
A shooting on Colquitt Road on Sunday (2/16/25) leads to an arrest.
Shreveport Police were called to the scene around 3pm to respond to the shooting. When SPD showed up they found a man laying face-down on the ground. A man on the scene who identified himself as Silvester Davis said he was the one who shot the man and called 911.
The victim was shot in the right buttock, and Police used a first-aid kit to stop the bleeding while they waited for the ambulance. Once he was stable Police were able to figure out what happened. Davis told Police that a fight started when the victim of the shooting kicked Davis' dog. As the fight escalated Davis took out a gun and shot the victim in the rear-end.
The victim did not want to personally press charges over the shooting, but Davis was arrested for Illegal Use of a Weapon
From SPD:
"The Shreveport Police Department strongly urges individuals to seek peaceful resolutions to disputes. Firearms should only be used in life-threatening situations. Resorting to gun violence over minor disagreements is both reckless and unacceptable."
