Shreveport Police Arrest Man for Early Morning Shooting Incident

Over the weekend, Shreveport Police responded to Marshall Street after Patrol Officers reported hearing shots fired in the area.

While officers were responding, they were told that a white Dodge Charger had fled on East Stoner Avenue and was believed to be connected to the shooting. Officers located a vehicle matching that description near Stoner Avenue and Louisiana Avenue and initiated a traffic stop.

The vehicle was stopped near Texas Avenue and Murphy Street, where Carlton Wheeler was taken into custody.

Wheeler has been charged with one count of DWI 1st Offense and one count of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm. He was also found to have outstanding traffic warrants.
