Shreveport Man Sentenced for Sexual Crimes Against a Child
A Shreveport man who was convicted earlier this month for a disgusting crime got a lengthy sentence in Caddo Court.
Back in October of 2023, the Court determined that 35 year-old Travis June entered the room of a 10 year-old girl at night, committed a lewd act, then tried to pay the child 5 dollars to try and ensure she wouldn't tell anyone. A month later, the victim told a relative what June did. The relative told Shreveport Police about the abuse, and June was arrested.
June was also a suspect in 3 prior sexual assault cases, and has a felony conviction for domestic abuse with child endangerment.
June was sentenced to 40 years in prison with hard labor, and must register as a sex offender for life.
From the Caddo DA:
"Assistant District Attorneys Fernando Grider Jr. and Senáe D. Hall prosecuted June. He was defended by Dave Knadler and Royal Alexander."
