Shreveport Man Behind Bars for Child Sexual Assault

The Shreveport Police Department has arrested a man in connection with a rape reported in 2025 involving a 9-year-old child.

The investigation began with the assistance of Project Celebration, after the child victim gave Police and counselors details of a sexual assault. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for First Degree Rape.

Last week, Emmanuel James was taken into custody by the SPD Warrant Unit and was charged with First Degree Rape is a capital offense in Louisiana.

If convicted, James could face the death penalty
