Shreveport Man Arrested for Rape of a 10 Year-Old

Shreveport Police's Sex Crimes Detective have made an arrest in a disturbing case involving a 10 year-old girl.

The investigation started back in June when SPD got a report about a rape involving a child. During the investigation, Philip Daniels was found to be the most likely suspect in this disgusting case.

Daniels in known by Police. He was identified as a suspect in a few different sex crime cases, including a forcible rape in 2001, and was arrested in 2017, 2018, and 2023 for obscenity.

Over the weekend, Patrol Officers were able to locate Daniels on Raspberry Lane. Daniels was arrested and charged with one count of First-Degree Rape and one count of Molestation of a Juvenile.

From SPD:

"Due to the severity of this case, the charges could potentially qualify for the death penalty if a conviction is secured.

The Shreveport Police Department remains committed to protecting our most vulnerable citizens and will continue to pursue justice for victims of these heinous crimes."
