Shreveport Police Issue Warrant for Convicted Rapist
The Shreveport Police Department is asking for public assistance in locating David Aue, a classified lifetime sex offender who is currently wanted for failure to register.
Detectives officially submitted an arrest warrant for Aue on June 3, 2026. The action follows an investigation determining that Aue failed to complete his mandatory 2026 annual sex offender registration with local authorities.

Registration Non-Compliance Violates State Law
Under Louisiana Revised Statute 15:542 (Registration of Sex Offenders and Child Predators), individuals convicted of specific tier offenses must maintain up-to-date registration records with local law enforcement agencies.
Aue’s absolute requirement to register stems from a prior conviction for First-Degree Rape. Because he did not fulfill his annual reporting requirements for the current calendar year, law enforcement moved forward with formal criminal charges for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, First Conviction.
Authorities Request Tips From the Public
The Shreveport Police Department emphasized its ongoing commitment to strict enforcement of sex offender monitoring laws. Detectives are actively pursuing Aue and urge anyone with knowledge of his current location to come forward.
