
Shreveport Man Found Guilty of Robbery in Caddo Court
A Caddo Parish Jury found a Shreveport Man guilty of simple robbery in Caddo District Court.
Back in 2023, 49 year-old Arnold Ballard Jr. was in a Shreveport safe-haven that serves the homeless in the city. While there, he assaulted his victim and took the victim's personal property.
According to testimony Ballard hit the victim several times during the robbery. When the victim tried calling Police, Ballard took the victim's cell phone and headset from around his neck.
The trial included testimony from both the victim and a Sargent with the Shreveport Police Department.
It took the Jury just over an hour to return the unanimous guilty verdict to the Judge.
From the Caddo DA:
"When Ballard return to Judge Hathaway's court for sentencing December 9, 2025, he faces up to seven years in prison with or without hard labor.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Ashlin N. Thomas and Christopher S. Bowman. Ballard was represented by defense attorney Carlos Prudhomme."
The case was docket No. 397289.
