Shreveport Police Hunt Two Suspects in Fraudulent Rental Scheme
Detectives with the Shreveport Police Department are actively searching for two individuals accused of running a rental property scam that defrauded an unsuspecting victim out of hundreds of dollars.
The investigation began on April 8, 2026, after authorities received reports of a fraud involving a residential property located in the 2800 block of Corbitt Street.
Victims Lured Through Deceptive Social Media Listing
According to investigators, the scheme began when the victim was directed to a social media marketplace listing advertising the Corbitt Street home for rent.
The online listing was allegedly managed by a woman identifying herself as “Kaysha Talbert.” However, detectives later determined that this was a false identity used to trick the victim into believing the poster had the legal authority to lease the property.
Cash Handed Over After Home Walkthrough
The deception escalated when the victim met with two individuals, later identified by police as Chad Russell and Dominique Gillham, to view the home.

Following a walkthrough of the residence, the victim handed over $600 in cash, which was intended to cover a security deposit and a partial rent payment. Investigators noted that both Russell and Gillham were present during the cash transaction.
Suspects Vanish and Warrants Issued
The situation quickly soured after the money changed hands. Police report that all communication from the suspects ceased immediately. Despite numerous attempts to contact the individuals, the victim was left unable to move into the residence or recover the stolen funds.
A deeper investigation revealed that neither suspect had any legal connection to the property or the authority to collect money for it. After the victim positively identified both individuals through photographic lineups, detectives obtained arrest warrants for Chad Russell and Dominique Diane Gillham. Both face one count each of Theft of Property valued between $1,000 and $5,000.
A History of Theft and Fraud Offenses
This is not the first brush with the law for either suspect, according to police records.
Detectives revealed that Gillham has a history of prior arrests related to identity theft offenses. Russell’s criminal record is even more extensive, spanning more than 13 prior arrests involving theft and various theft-related crimes.

The Shreveport Police Department is asking for the community's assistance in locating the suspects. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Chad Russell or Dominique Gillham is strongly urged to contact the Shreveport Police Department immediately. 318 673-7300.
