Shreveport Police Arrest Four for Prostitution and Pandering

The Shreveport Police Department's Vice Unit were able to make several arrests involving prostitution, pandering, and obscenity.

To clear up some questions, everyone knows what prostitution is, but what about pandering and obscenity?

Pandering includes any of the following acts:

1. Enticing, persuading, or causing someone to enter into the practice of prostitution—whether by force, threats, promises, or manipulation.

2. Maintaining a location where prostitution is habitually practiced.

Obscenity refers to the intentional public exposure of genitals or other intimate parts in a manner meant to arouse sexual desire or that is patently offensive.

Three arrests were made involving prostitution and pandering:

o Michelea Calhoune was arrested for one count of prostitution.

o Shaquria Rollins was arrested for one count of pandering and one count of prostitution.

o Philouderia Williams was arrested for one count of prostitution and one count of marijuana possession.

One man was arrested for obscenity:

o Tony Hicks was arrested for one count of obscenity.

The Shreveport Police's Vice Unit is dedicated to investigating instances of prostitution and human trafficking. These crimes exploit the vulnerable and fund criminal activity. SPD works hard to hold offenders accountable, and protecting the victimized.
