Shreveport Police Arrest Felon for Possession of a Firearm

On March 2, at approximately midnight, officers contacted a suspicious individual in the 3000 block of Youree Drive. Upon arrival, officers identified the man as 32-year-old Robert Mayfield.

During the encounter, officers discovered that Mayfield was wanted on outstanding warrants related to domestic abuse battery with strangulation. Further investigation revealed that Mayfield was also in possession of a firearm. It was later determined that Mayfield was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a prior felony conviction.

As a result, Mayfield was promptly arrested and charged with one count of felony possession of a firearm.
