The Shreveport Police Department is turning to the community for help in tracking down a suspect wanted for an early-June shooting that left a local woman fighting for her life. 

Violent Incident Near Portland Avenue 

The incident occurred on the evening of June 6, 2026. Patrol officers were sent to the intersection of Portland Avenue and Lakeshore Drive following reports of gunfire. 

Officers discovered an adult female suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Shreveport Fire Department paramedics administered emergency on-site medical care before rushing her to a local hospital. Officials state her injuries are considered life-threatening. 

Investigators Identify Suspect, Secure Warrant 

Detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit, alongside Crime Scene Investigators, launched an immediate probe into the shooting, combing the area for evidence and interviewing witnesses.

Following an investigation, detectives identified the suspect as 42-year-old Michael Deondre Wilson (DOB: 02/20/1984). Authorities have since secured an arrest warrant for Wilson, charging him with one count of Attempted Second Degree Murder. 

Public Assistance Requested 

Wilson remains at large and is actively evading law enforcement. 

The Shreveport Police Department emphasizes that ensuring community safety and holding violent offenders accountable remain their top priorities. They are urging anyone with information on Wilson's current location to step forward. Do not approach the suspect, but rather call police with information.
