SHREVEPORT, LA- Shreveport Police Rescue Woman from Violent Situation
On July 29th at approximately 11:25 AM, Shreveport Police officers responded to the 5700 block of Financial Plaza regarding a welfare concern. A female caller advised that her boyfriend was holding her hostage inside a hotel at this location.
Upon arrival, the suspect refused to open the door, prompting officers to enter the hotel room. As officers attempted to physically restrain the suspect, he violently resisted and tried to disarm the officers of their tasers. After a minute-long struggle, officers successfully took 29 year-old Samuel Robertson into custody.
Samuel Robertson has been charged with the following offenses:
- One count of false imprisonment while armed with a dangerous weapon
- Two counts of battery on a police officer
- Two counts of resisting with force or violence
- One count of disarming a peace officer
Two officers sustained minor injuries during the struggle, but fortunately, no one was seriously injured.
