Shreveport Police Seek Assistance Locating Multi-State Equipment Theft Suspect

The Shreveport Police Department (SPD) is asking for the public’s help to locate Andru Fitzgerald, a suspect wanted in multiple states for extensive heavy equipment thefts.

On October 4, 2024, Shreveport detectives were alerted to a case involving a stolen skid steer and trailer. The equipment, rented by Fitzgerald, was not returned by the due date. With the assistance of GPS tracking, SPD located the trailer in Fort Worth, Texas, though the skid steer remains missing as its GPS tracker has since powered down.

During their investigation, SPD Property Crimes detectives discovered that Fitzgerald is wanted on several warrants across multiple jurisdictions. He currently has an active warrant out of Benton, Arkansas, for heavy equipment theft. Additionally, Fitzgerald is under grand jury indictment in Tennessee, accused of stealing over $300,000 worth of equipment. Further charges for similar offenses are pending against him in Alabama.

SPD detectives have obtained a local warrant for Fitzgerald on the charge of Theft over $25,000. Given his extensive record and multi-state criminal activity, Fitzgerald poses a serious risk, and authorities are seeking public assistance in tracking down this serial thief.
