Shreveport Police Arrest Three Suspects With Guns After Fleeing
On July 15th, 2023, around 6:22 p.m. members of the Shreveport Police Street Level Interdiction Unit were proactively patrolling the downtown area when officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a black Chevy Malibu. The vehicle refused to stop, and a pursuit ensued throughout the city.
The vehicle abruptly stopped, and the occupants fled from the vehicle on foot in the Cherokee Park neighborhood. Officers were able to locate all three occupants. The driver was later identified as Marquarius Johnson (11-3-03). Dekevion Allen (04-17-00) was also taken into custody and found to have two handguns that were found to be stolen. The third occupant of the vehicle was found to be Rasson Smith (5-20-04).
Johnson was arrested and charged with one count of Aggravated Flight from an officer. Allen was charged with two counts of illegal possession of a stolen firearm and one count of resisting. Smith was charged with one count of possession of schedule one.
No injuries were reported. We are required to remind you that suspects are innocent until proven guilty. Smith’s and Allen’s’ mugshots are not releasable due to not being charged with violent offenses.
