SHREVEPORT, LA Arrest Made in 2022 Rape Case

The Shreveport Police Department has arrested 21-year-old Rafeal Edwards on one count of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile. Edwards is accused of the sexual assault of a 14-year-old in 2022.

Edwards was taken into custody on July 13 on an outstanding warrant issued by Shreveport Police Sex Crimes detectives.

The Penalty for this offense states Whoever commits the crime of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile shall be fined not more than five thousand dollars, or imprisoned, with or without hard labor, for not more than ten years, or both, provided that the defendant shall not be eligible to have his conviction set aside or his prosecution dismissed by the provisions of Code of Criminal Procedure Article 893.
