Shreveport Police Arrest Man for Attempted 2nd Degree Murder
SHREVEPORT, LA
Arrest Made in Shooting Incident on Alkay Drive
On Thursday, November 21, 2024, around 7:00 p.m., Shreveport Police officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 2800 block of Alkay Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
SPD Violent Crimes detectives immediately launched an investigation. Through their diligent efforts, they identified 27-year-old Jumarion Johnson as the suspect. Detectives determined that Johnson shot the victim multiple times in an attempt to kill him.
A warrant was issued for Johnson’s arrest. He was later located and apprehended in Bossier City with the assistance of local law enforcement. Johnson has been charged with one count of attempted second-degree murder and is currently in custody.
The victim is receiving medical care and is reported to be in stable condition.
The Shreveport Police Department issued a statement commending the teamwork and swift action of its officers and detectives, as well as the cooperation of the Bossier City Police Department, in bringing this case to resolution.
