SHREVEPORT, LA- Shreveport Police Arrest Felon in Possession of Firearm
On August 18, 2024, Shreveport Police officers responded to reports of several vehicle burglaries in the 9300 block of Linwood Avenue. Upon arrival, officers observed two suspicious individuals in the vicinity. When officers attempted to detain the suspects for questioning, one of them fled on foot.
The fleeing suspect, identified as 40-year-old Earl Neathery, was apprehended after a brief pursuit and physical restraint. During the arrest, officers discovered that Neathery was in possession of a firearm. Further investigation revealed that Neathery is a convicted felon and is legally prohibited from possessing firearms.
Earl Neathery has been charged with resisting arrest and being a felon in possession of a firearm. The investigation into the vehicle burglaries remains ongoing.
