
Shreveport PD Make Multiple Domestic Violence Arrests Memorial Day Weekend

SHREVEPORT, LA- Multiple Domestic Violence Arrests Made by Shreveport Police on Memorial Day
The Shreveport Police Department made several arrests related to domestic violence incidents on Memorial Day, May 27, 2024.

Officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 600 block of Terrell Drive. Christopher McKnight, 35, was arrested and charged with multiple offenses including domestic abuse battery by strangulation, domestic abuse battery with child endangerment, violation of a protective order, property damage, and resisting an officer.
In the 7900 block of Youree Drive, officers arrested Shane McGraw, 41, for one count of misdemeanor domestic abuse battery and felony improper telephone communication following a domestic disturbance call. McGraw's photograph is not available due to Louisiana law, which does not classify misdemeanor domestic abuse battery as a violent crime.

Officers responded to another domestic disturbance in the 9000 block of Sarah Lane. Johnathan Reeves, 35, was arrested for one count of domestic abuse battery by strangulation after the altercation left the victim with visible injuries.

Daquincey Austin, 46, was arrested in the 200 block of Carrollton Avenue during a domestic dispute. Officers discovered that Austin was wanted in connection to another 2023 domestic incident at the same location. He was charged with one count of battery of a domestic dating partner by strangulation and one count of battery of a dating partner second offense.
Fortunately, while all these incidents resulted in injuries and emotional distress, no serious injuries were reported. The Shreveport Police Department urges victims of domestic violence to seek help and utilize available resources.
