Shreveport Police Remove Multiple Armed Offenders from the Streets

The Shreveport Police Department has taken decisive action to remove dangerous individuals and illegal firearms from our community. Through proactive efforts and dedicated policing, several arrests were made between December 3 and December 8, 2024, resulting in the seizure of firearms and narcotics from convicted felons and other offenders.

December 8, 2024 – At approximately 9:17 p.m., officers patrolling the 4200 block of Lakeshore observed a suspicious individual. The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Dennis Hill, fled on foot but was apprehended. Hill, a convicted felon, was found to be in possession of a firearm. He was charged with Resisting an Officer and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

December 7, 2024 – Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle in the 6500 block of Quillen Road.  Khiry Fuller found inside the vehicle, armed with a firearm. Further investigation revealed Fuller was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a prior felony conviction. He also had outstanding traffic warrants. Fuller was arrested and charged accordingly.

Later that evening, at approximately 4:14 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at Jewella Avenue and Hollywood Avenue. The driver, Cotorez Jackson, was found to have narcotics and a firearm in the vehicle. Jackson also had multiple traffic warrants. He was charged with Possession of Narcotics, Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, and additional offenses.

December 6, 2024 – Around 4:00 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle at North Market Street and Cadillac Street. The driver, Mark Acosta, was found to be in possession of a handgun and narcotics. As a convicted felon, Acosta faces charges of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Illegal Carrying of a Weapon with a Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Narcotics Possession.

December 3, 2024 – During the arrest of Steve Harrison on outstanding Felony Domestic Abuse Battery charges, officers discovered a large quantity of narcotics and a firearm in his possession. Harrison was additionally charged with Illegally Carrying a Weapon with a Controlled Dangerous Substance.

December 7, 2024 – A traffic stop at the intersection of Jones Mabry Road and Pearl Street escalated into a pursuit that ended when the suspect vehicle wrecked into a ditch. The driver, Sam Douglas, and passenger, Cardavius Scott, attempted to flee. Douglas was charged with Flight from an Officer, Hit and Run, and Resisting an Officer. Scott, a convicted felon, was found with a firearm and narcotics. He faces charges of Resisting an Officer, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Distribution of Narcotics.

Firearm Seizures and Community Commitment

In each of these cases, firearms were seized. Upon adjudication of the cases, the seized firearms will be destroyed to prevent their further use in violent crimes.
