A mass-text with a letter attached was sent to students and parents on Wednesday (10/18/23) regarding a change of power at Capt. Shreve High School.

Caddo School Superintendent Dr. Lamar Goree sent the following information:

"Thank you for a great first nine weeks of the 2023-2024 school year! The students, staff, families, and alumni of Captain Shreve have been working hard to make this a year to remember. Your efforts are making a difference and are greatly appreciated as we seek for every student who attends school at The Swamp to leave prepared for the next step of their lives.

As the Superintendent of the Caddo Parish School Board, one of my most significant responsibilities is selecting the right leaders to serve as principals. Captain Shreve High School has been fortunate to have a long line of exceptional principals, a testament to the excellence this school demands. In 2022, I entrusted the role of principal to long-time assistant principal, Mr. Robert Silvie. As Mr. Silvie approaches his 50th year in education, a remarkable and notable accomplishment, I sincerely appreciate his dedication to Captain Shreve and wish to extend thanks for his service to the school.

To ensure a seamless transition and to maintain the tradition of excellence, I am delighted to announce that Mr. Bryant Sepulvado will serve as Captain Shreve's next principal. Mr. Sepulvado will begin transitioning into this role throughout the 2023-2024 school year. With a profound passion for Captain Shreve and its community, I am confident that Mr. Sepulvado will thrive in his new position as the school's principal. To ensure his success, I have directed district leadership to work closely with Mr. Silvie and Mr. Sepulvado, providing the necessary resources to ensure that Captain Shreve continues flourishing.

I ask you to join me in congratulating Mr. Sepulvado on his new role and expressing our sincere appreciation to Mr. Silvie for his tireless commitment to Captain Shreve. Our top priority remains delivering the highest quality education in a safe learning environment.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to building on the great legacy of Captain Shreve High School."

T. Lamar Goree, Ph.D.
