The Shreveport Mudbugs hockey team are back for the 2021-2022 season. This year's games kick off in October, and there will be home games at George's Pond at Hirsch Coliseum all the way into April.

For this season, the calendar is marked with a TON of great promotional weekends. Many of them celebrating the history of Shreveport. Like two new events this year, Historical Music Night and Pro Wrestling Night.

The Hirsch Coliseum is packed with music history. After all, it IS the building that Elvis left. But beyond that, it has hosted historical moments for bands like Van Halen, Ozzy Osbourne, Pantera, and more.

When it comes to pro wrestling, the city of Shreveport carries a lot of historical significance as well. In the early 1980s, Shreveport was the home of Mid South Wrestling. Their television tapings took place on the Louisiana State Fairgrounds, where George's Pond at Hirsch Coliseum resides. Stars like Junkyard Dog, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Dr. Death Steve Williams, and Ted DiBiase were mainstays in Shreveport, while major stars like Ric Flair, Andre The Giant, and even a young Shawn Michaels had matches in Shreveport for Mid South.
