Shreveport Man Wanted for Kidnapping Child

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Shreveport man.  26-year-old Desmond Edwards is wanted for kidnapping a young child this past Wednesday.  

A woman has told police that Edwards, who was her ex-boyfriend, entered her home in the 100 block of West 78th Street without her permission and took her 4-year-old daughter.  Detectives were able to contact Edwards by phone and he agreed to return the child via a third party.  The child was returned about two hours later, unharmed.

Detectives have been trying to find Edwards ever since but, so far, have been unsuccessful.  They've obtained a warrant for his arrest on a charge of simple kidnapping.  His bond has been set at $180,000.  They're asking anybody who might know where he is to contact Caddo-Shreveport Crime Stoppers at 673-7373 or online at www.lockemup.org.  A $500 reward is being offered for information that leads to his arrest.
