Shreveport Police Investigate Fatal Stabbing on Morningside Drive
Shreveport Police patrol officers were called to 3017 Morningside Drive around 9:30 on Sunday night, February 16th for a stabbing call.
When the officers arrived, they found a male victim outside who had been stabbed in the center of his chest. Shreveport Fired Department medics were then called. The victim had lost a lot of blood, and was transported by the Fire Department to Ochsner LSU Health with life-threatening injuries.
Officers were interviewing the person who made the 911 call, 31 year-old Zakiyyah Anderson. Anderson told police that the victim was cooking in the kitchen. Police found a couple knives in the kitchen, one in the sink that appeared to be wet, and another on a table with what appeared to be blood residue still on the knife.

Patrol officers called in Shreveport Police homicide detectives immediately upon finding a possible murder weapon. During their interview with the suspect, officers found out that the victim had subsequently died at the hospital from his injuries. Shreveport Police CSI Detectives processed the scene and collected evidence related to the murder.
After further investigation, detectives then arrested Zakiyyah Anderson on one account of Second- Degree Murder.
The Shreveport Police Department released a statement saying:
The Shreveport Police commends the officers and detectives for their swift work in bringing this case to a resolution. This marks the fifth homicide in Shreveport this year, another tragic and senseless act of violence in our community.
