SHREVEPORT, LA - Shreveport Police officers were called to a bizarre incident in the 4200 block of Barbara Avenue just before 5:30 on Wednesday. This came in as a suspicious person call. When the officers got to the area, they spotted a couple of guys engaged in a heated argument. One of the responding officers recognized one of the men as Damien Clark, who is a wanted fugitive with several outstanding warrants.

When officers tried to arrest Clark, he bolted and ran away on foot. He sprinted through several backyards and then dangerously ran across all six lanes of Interstate 20 trying to get away from police.  After crossing the interstate, Clark climbed over a barbed-wire fence and ran through more backyards on Thurgood Circle.

Officers were able to secure the neighborhood and they were able to catch up with Clark. But this guy wasn't done yet. After the officers ordered him to stop and surrender, he ran off again. Officers tried to shoot him with a taser, but this guy was not stopping. Clark kept running. More officers converged on the scene and they were able to stop Clark just before he tried to run back across the interstate.

Clark did not give up without quite a fight. He is accused of fighting with the officers, even elbowing one while trying to make another break for it. But the officers managed to get him in cuffs.

Clark was injured during his skirmish with the officers and was treated at the scene by Shreveport EMS crews. He was then taken to LSU Ochsner for further evaluation.

The investigation revealed that Clark had entered the residence of the other individual he was arguing with without their authorization or permission.  This led him to being charged with Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling. Police also found out that Clark had outstanding warrants for:

  • Resisting an Officer
  • Aggravated Flight
  • Theft of a Motor Vehicle
  • Felon in Possession of a Firearm

Clark was booked into the Shreveport City Jail and now faces multiple felony charges.
