Bossier City police continue to investigate an overnight crash that left a Shreveport man dead.

Police say the accident happened at around 11:45 p.m. Friday, October 31, 2014, at the intersection of Barksdale Boulevard and Sligo Road. A Chevy 1500 extended cab pickup truck was headed west on Sligo road collided with a Chevy Avalanche pickup truck headed northbound on Barksdale.

Police say the driver of the Chevy 1500, 23-year-old Charles Dennis Long, Jr., of Shreveport, died at the scene. He wasn't wearing a seat belt and was partially ejectec from the truck. He's believed to have been under the influence of alcohol, but toxicology results are pendine.

His three passengers were all wearing seat belts, and were taken to University Health with non-life-threatening injuries. They're identified as 21-year-old Jaymon Canizaro of Shreveport, and 20-year-old Nicole Ward and 19-year-old Samantha Ward, both of Bossier City.

The driver of the Avalanche, 17-year-old Haley Candella of Elm Grove, also suffered what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. She was taken to Willis Knighton-Pierremont for treatment.
