A man is behind bars this morning after allegations that he robbed and shot another male. Back on January 30, 2021, Shreveport Police responded to Monkhouse Drive in response to a shooting. Officers located Brian Atkins suffering from a gunshot injury to the chest.  The victim was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Evidence led investigators to determine that Atkins was shot after he accepted a ride from 34-year-old Nathan Carl Lee. While Akins was in the car with Lee, Lee decided to rob Atkins and shot him in the chest after robbing him.  Atkins was kicked out of the car in the 4800 block of Monkhouse Drive.

Detectives got an arrest warrant for Lee back in early February, charging him with one count of Attempted Second Degree Murder and Armed Robbery. On Wednesday, March 3, 2021, Investigators received a tip that Lee was in the 5000 block of Interstate Drive. Detectives along with the assistance of outside law enforcement agencies were able to take Nathan Lee into custody. He was booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
