Shreveport Man Arrested Following Machete Attack

On Saturday, July 6, at approximately 6:15 p.m., Shreveport Police officers were dispatched to a local hospital regarding a female suffering from injuries sustained in a domestic incident.

Officers commenced their investigation and discovered that the victim had been involved in a domestic dispute with 39-year-old Torrance Williams in the 6300 block of Kenwood Lane.

During the incident, Williams reportedly armed himself with a machete and struck the victim in the arm, causing a significant wound. The victim received multiple stitches and is expected to recover.

Torrance Williams has been arrested and charged with the following:

- One count of domestic abuse aggravated assault

- One count of domestic abuse battery with a dangerous weapon, inflicting serious injury

The victim is expected to recover fully from her injuries.

Suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
