Shreveport K9 “Storm” Assists in Second Arrest in First Week
In the early hours of March 11th, Shreveport Police Officers engaged in a pursuit after conducting a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle at Devaughn Street and Prentiss Street. The driver, later identified as 18-year-old Iyon Williams, refused to comply, leading to a chase.
After fleeing from the vehicle on foot, Williams found himself facing Shreveport Police’s newest K9, Storm.
Williams now faces a litany of charges, including handling of a machine gun, possession of schedule one narcotics, felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated flight from an officer, resisting arrest, illegal possession of a stolen firearm, hit and run, property damage, and illegal possession of the stolen vehicle.
The diligent action of law enforcement, coupled with the invaluable support of K9 Storm, underscores the dedication to maintaining public safety and holding individuals accountable for their actions.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
