SHREVEPORT, LA-  Shreveport Police K9 apprehends man in violent domestic incident

On February 23rd, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Shreveport Police Patrol officers responded to a call of a home invasion at 1712 Point Coupe. The victim reported that 41-year-old Devon Porter forcibly entered the residence and committed acts of violence against her.

Detectives with the Shreveport Police Domestic Violence Unit were speaking with the victim, K-9 officers located Porter. Porter fled but was apprehended quickly by Shreveport police K9 Diesel.

Porter has been arrested and charged with three counts of domestic abuse battery, battery with child endangerment, one count of domestic abuse battery with a dangerous weapon, and one count of home invasion. Porter was treated at a local area hospital for minor injuries sustained during the incident.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty under state law.
